About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Developer Surety team!

Developer Surety bonds are used by developers of residential projects to satisfy provincial legislation by providing warranty and deposit protection for new home buyers. Intact provides deposit and warranty protection for new home buyers in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the delivery of Developer Surety products in assess the financial position, capability and creditworthiness of new and existing developer surety clients, underwrite new development projects, monitor developer surety projects, and provide recommendations to senior management.

Here Are a Few Ways You'll Make a Difference

• Obtain and analyze underwriting data, perform financial analysis and apply critical thinking on underwriting decisions and client relationship issues
• Analyze financial position of current and new developer clients
• Provide recommendations to management on developer surety bond support to provide to existing and prospective developer clients
• Negotiate specific terms and conditions for issuing Developer Surety bonds to clients
• Monitor the development projects and exposures
• Develop new business through networking/marketing with brokers, clients, developers, consultants, lawyers, and other market participants
• Gain and expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions
• Represent Intact at various developer associations and industry related functions

The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
• 3 to 5 years of developer surety or commercial lending/credit experience, and/or experience in a commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage capacity
• Solid understanding of financial statements
• Demonstrated capability for outstanding customer service
• Proven track record for quick, accurate problem resolution
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with co-workers in a team setting
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products
